| Bosnia and Herzegvina
at the time was part of communist Yugoslavia, company named IRIS Computers (subcompany of
biggest electric company in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Yugoslavia ENERGOINVEST) has
produced Apple II clones since the early '80s. Their official brand name was IRIS 8. They
were very expensive and hard to obtain and were produced primarily for usage in early
computerised digital telephone systems and for education. Their usage in offices of the
state companies, R&D labs and in the Yugoslav army was also reported. IRIS 8 had looks
of early IBM PCs—separate central unit with cooling system and two 5?" disks,
monitor and keyboard. Compatibility with original Apple II was complete. Elite high
schools in Yugoslavia and especially Bosnia and Herzegovina were equipped with clusters of
8, 16 or 32 IRIS 8 computers connected in local network administrated by IRIS 16 PC clone.
The number of IRIS 8's produced could be as many as a couple of tens of thousands.

Bosna i Hercegovina je u to u vrijeme bila dio komunističke Jugoslavije, tvrtka sa imenom IRIS Computers (dio ENERGOINVEST-a u Bosni i Hercegovini i Jugoslaviji je proizveo klona - Apple II u ranim 80-ih. Njegovo službeno ime i robna marka je bilo IRIS 8. Oni su vrlo skupi i teško dobiti, a proizvedeni su prvenstveno za korištenje u ranim računalnim telefonskim sustavima i digitalnim za obrazovanje. Njihova uporaba u uredima državnih poduzeća, R & D laboratorija i JNA je također izvijestio. IRIS 8 imao izgleda rane IBM računala, odvojena središnja jedinica s rashladnim sustavom i dvije 5? BRANISLAV STUPAR Branislav Stupar is a designer and he made IRIS 8, in fact, his company SPE Electronic Sarajevo. Here is part of the pictures of which are preserved, most of the documents destroyed in the war even though SPE ELECTRONIC work all the time the war (my brother was disabled and released from military service) and company is closed in 1999. IRIS 8 is based on Apple II computers. At that time it was forbidden to import computers in Yugoslavia so we were clever and smart. It was a goal that children have to learn what, then they learned programming languages without computers it was ordinary nonsense. The computer is made by team of people as follow: Stupar Branislav, Andreja Markovic (then student, now in Australia), my brother, Mladen Stupar (died 2004), my brother Joe (Dr. Milorad Stupar, Dept. Of Astronomy, University of Sidney), Rudolf Bosnjak (in Sarajevo is engaged in electric cars), and Edin Grapcanovic (in Sarajevo, was employed by us). Great help and support we have received of Energoinvest Institute for computer systems (IRIS), Marko Zirojevic director of IRIS, Zoran Salcic my classmate and then Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Sarajevo, now Profesor. University of Auckland and Nebojsa Rajacic, Head of Customer Support IRIS (died 1992) and many others including and Dragutin Braco Kosovac, president of the Steering Board Energoinvest. |

STUPAR RIJEČI Branislav Stupar je idejni tvorac i on je napravio IRIS 8, ustvari njegova firma SPE Electronic u Sarajevu.. Ovdje je dio slika o tom radu, koje su sačuvane, većina dokumenata je u ratu uništena iako je firma SPE ELECTRONIC radila cijelo vrijeme rata (moj brat je bio invalid i oslodjen vojne obaveze) i firma je zatvorena je 1999. IRIS 8 je baziran na APPLE II računaru. U to doba je bilo
zabranjeno uvoziti računare u Jugosaviju pa smo se mi dovijali. Bio je cilj da se djeca
imaju na čemu učiti, tada su učili programske jezike bez računara što je bila
ordinarna glupost. |

| IRIS-8 PROCESSOR IRIS-8 was carried around the 8-bit 6502 microprocessor and the system clock 1MHz. On the processor board is located 12 Mb ROM and 64 Mb of RAM. Because of its "open" architecture, it is possible to add specific modules and other microprocessors such as Z80. PERIPHERAL MEMORY To work with larger data volumes, IRIS-8 has one or two disk unit 5''1 / 4 capacity of 630 Kb. Optionally, you can add 1 or 2 fixed (Winchester) disk drive capacity of 10 Mb. KEYBOARD The keyboard is a serial type, with the standard ASCII set of characters separated by functional and the numerical part. Has 84 programmable keys so that, except ASCII character sets, can help a special program that recognizes and YU set of characters. MONITOR Monitor, which comes standard with the computer IRIS-8, the monochrome, green, screen size 12''CRT with high resolution. IRIS-8 PROCESOR IRIS-8 je realiziran oko 8-bitnog mikroprocesora 6502 i sistemskim satom 1MHz. Na procesorskoj ploci nalazi se 12 Kb ROM-a i 64 Kb RAM-a. Zbog svoje "otvorene" arhitekture, moguće je na posebnim modulima dodavati i druge mikroprocesore npr. Z80. PERIFERNA MEMORIJA Za rad sa većom kolicinom podataka IRIS-8 ima jednu ili dvije disk jedinice 5'' 1/4 kapaciteta od 630 Kb. Opcionalno, mogu se dodati 1 ili 2 fiksna (winchester) diska kapaciteta po 10 Mb. TASTATURA Tastatura je serijskog tipa, sa standardnim ASCII setom znakova izdvojenim funkcijskim i numeričkim dijelom. Sadrži 84 programabilna tastera tako da, osim ASCII seta znakova, može pomocu posebnog programa da prepoznaje i YU set znakova. MONITOR Monitor koji se standardno isporučuje uz racunar IRIS-8, je monohromni, zeleni, velicine ekrana 12'' sa katodnom cijevi visoke rezolucije. Moguce je ispisivanje 40 znakova u 24 linije, odnosno 80 znakova uz upotrebu posebnog modula. Za posebne se namjene ili na zahtjev korisnika, može se isporuciti i monitor u boji. ŠTAMPAČ Uz upotrebu modula serijskog izlaza, možemo koristiti i matricni štampac brzine 120 cps. U NLQ modu štampac možemo koristiti za štampanje poslovnih pisama i ostalih slicnih dokumenata. PROGRAMSKA PODRŠKA Osnovni operativni sistem racunara IRIS-8 je DOS 3,3, a dodatno i CP/M i PASCAL. IRIS-8 radi sa programskim jezicima BASIC, FORTRAN, PASCAL, LOGO, FOTH. IRIS monochrome monitor, which we rule in the iris of the Energoinvest Nebojsa group. Nenad Mihic went to Bergamo
(Italy) in a factory of these monitors that show us how to prepare for us they deliver all
the components except the box that was designed by Pero Begic and Zdravko Granik also from
our grupe.With Nenad they went to Italy and Ivan Zekic
and Sejo Halilovic and then we at Stup factory velding together all
the components on the motherboard, composing and doing all the necessary adjustments to
